The Wrap

About 50,000 years ago, an iron-nickel meteorite slammed into the ground east of Flagstaff and left a mile-wide hole. Meteor Crater, also called Barringer Crater, has been run as a tourist attraction since 1955, under a 199-year lease with the Barringer family. That's a long time to hold a hole. Impressive.
