Southside neighbors start cleanup after Sunday's flood swamped homes and businesses

Heavy rain Sunday flooded homes, businesses and streets in Flagstaff's neighborhood, and the Arizona Daily Star reported a person missing in Flagstaff. Officials said the current swept one man away, and he was later found dead. By Monday morning, street sweepers were still clearing mud, and many buildings wore a thin, muddy ring about eight inches above the ground.

The Wrap

Ever wondered what a "weak" tornado can do to a ponderosa pine forest? A Tornado Path Hike on Wednesday, Nov. 4 heads into the woods northwest of Flagstaff, where an EF1 tornado tore through on Oct. 21 around 5:40 a.m. The group meets at the parking lot at Highway 180 and Snowbowl Road, then carpools from there.
