If you drive between Sedona and Flagstaff, plan on the long way. State Route 89A has been closed since Sun., Nov. 1 from the in Sedona to Flagstaff, after Oak Creek rose above flood stage and undermined the road. Your Valley says the highway remains closed, with State Route 179 and Interstate 17 the route between the towns.

Repair work is beginning. Canyon residents with proof of residency can still use 89A to reach Sedona, and canyon guests can with an itinerary showing they arrived before the closure.
