ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Christmas tree permits are now available online through Recreation.gov for visitors to the Kaibab National Forest—permit details like cutting areas, dates, and tree types are posted on the site. Each permit allows up to five trees at $15 per tree with a small processing fee, and fourth graders with an Every Kid Outdoors pass can apply for a free permit.  KAFF

SPORTS NEWS

  • After several months of work, the City of Flagstaff Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Events Division completed the Bushmaster Park Sports Courts project with Hope Construction Inc. and funding from the BBB Special Revenue fund, making the courts open to the public today. The project includes two tennis courts, two basketball courts and eight pickleball courts with added landscaping and LED lighting — final adjustments will be made during winter and spring.  KAFF
