- ➤ The U.S. Capitol Christmas tree, a 53-foot red fir named Silver Belle from the Carson Ranger District near Lake Tahoe, will be on display outside Flagstaff Mall on Friday, Nov. 7 from 5—7 p.m. The event offers a prize giveaway, photo opportunities with Smokey Bear and Santa Claus, and special food and drink offers for community members. - ➤ Coconino County and the City of Flagstaff have launched food drives to help local families this holiday season—county sites are open until Nov. 7 while Flagstaff facilities will accept donations until Dec. 31. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Flagstaff teachers are helping students succeed by offering dual enrollment and advanced placement programs that prepare them for college. The educators work with schools (and local partners) (to expand future postsecondary options) as they guide student progress. Arizona Daily Sun

ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A prescribed fire was planned on November 4 to manage vegetation risks in Flagstaff — local officials organized the controlled burn as a routine measure. Flagscanner
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Local residents can register for the free CJCC Citizen’s Academy, a program that will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the criminal justice system and include discussions with judges, probation officers, and city officials in February 2026. The sessions will run every Wednesday from (5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) at 110 E.
