- ➤ Flagstaff Sustainability Office invites community members to attend two free events aimed at reducing landfill waste—Drop-Off Day on Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coconino County Health and Human Services building for disposing of hazardous items and a Fix-It Clinic on Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Joe C. - ➤ The Flagstaff Fire Department announced that Deputy Fire Chief Jerry Bills passed away on Oct. 9 after nearly 40 years of service including 19 with the department. Plans are in place to honor his full Line of Duty Death honors—details on memorial services will be shared soon. Flagscanner

- ➤ The NAU volleyball team beat Portland State in four sets — the soccer team fell after the Vikings scored a late goal. Arizona Daily Sun
- ➤ The Coconino Panthers beat the Prescott Badgers 42–26 indoors Friday at Walkup Skydome — the game was moved because of weather conditions. With the win, Coconino improved to 4–3 overall while Prescott dropped to 3–4 after missing injured players. KAFF
