- ➤ The City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office & Sustainability Commission announced that applications for the Flagstaff Sustainability Grants Program are open from Aug. 15 through Sept. 30 for community groups, non-profits, individuals and businesses with projects in energy, health, climate resilience and more. A grant workshop will be held Tuesday, Aug. 26 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Flagstaff Sustainability Office and online. KAFF

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Flagstaff Police responded on August 12th around 2:54 a.m. to a hit-and-run incident at the intersection of 4th Street and E. Route 66 that left 55-year-old Christopher Charley dead—using license plate technology, officers later arrested 25-year-old Christopher Clarke on charges of failing to stop and driving under the influence, with further charges under review. - ➤ Christopher Hoffman was sentenced to 11 years in prison on Aug. 7 following a Flagstaff sting operation that resolved several cases. Arizona Daily Sun

- ➤ NAU Athletic Director Uri Farkas announced today that Women’s Soccer Head Coach Alan Berrios signed a five-year contract extension to stay with the Lumberjacks—he led the team to a Big Sky Tournament Championship and their first NCAA appearance since 2014.
