- ➤ Grand Canyon National Park announced that new water restrictions went into effect on the South Rim on Aug. 9 at 8 a.m. Residents and visitors must reduce home and hotel flushing while Camper Services and water spigots at Mather Campground remain closed due to mechanical issues with the Transcanyon Waterline — the park will lift restrictions once water levels are sustainable.
