- ➤ On Friday, August 1 at 5:15 p.m., Flagstaff Police responded near a westbound train on the 500 block of East Route 66 after a report of a possible weapons violation and took an individual into custody for disorderly conduct involving a weapon—no shots were fired and the scene was secured. - ➤ Flagstaff police arrested a knife-wielding man—who barricaded himself in his apartment on Wednesday, July 30 after he allegedly threatened others—with help from the interagency regional SWAT team. Arizona Daily Sun

- ➤ The Dragon Bravo Fire is the largest wildfire burning in the U.S. and one of the top 10 in Arizona history as it has burned more than 164 square miles near the Grand Canyon’s North Rim. Fire clouds—created by the fire’s heat—are causing strong, unpredictable winds that forced crews to retreat and led to power outages in parts of Utah. AZ Family

- ➤ The Coconino County Attorney’s Office formed the Conviction Integrity Unit to review post-conviction claims of actual innocence and to provide recommendations based on clear evidence. The unit will be advised by a Conviction Review Committee (including former Judge Mark R. Moran and ex-Flagstaff Police Detective Casey Rucker) and will review only applications that meet the specified criteria. KAFF
