  • Following severe flooding in central Texas—15 dogs from Concho Valley PAWS have been relocated to Coconino Humane Association in Flagstaff.  Arizona Daily Sun
  • Kuttz is hosting its 8th annual back-to-school event on Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.—students from kindergarten through high school will get a free haircut and backpack while supplies last in partnership with One of One Barber Lounge.  Arizona Daily Sun

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Residents and business owners in Tusayan say fire insurance rates have risen 300% to 400%, making it hard for some to get coverage and affecting rebuilds and renovations. Mayor Clarinda Vail and local officials worry wildfires and low tourism will worsen the problem (state experts are reviewing the issue through the new Resiliency and Mitigation Council).  AZ Family
