ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Flagstaff 911 received multiple calls at 1:22 p.m. about a wildland fire near the railroad tracks on Tombstone Ave in West Flagstaff — callers reported flames 3 feet high covering about 50 square feet — and police reported that the flames are out.  Flagscanner

CRIME NEWS

  • Flagstaff Police responded to calls from Wendys on S Milton Rd when multiple callers reported that an adult white male in a long sleeve camo shirt and beanie, armed with a hammer, threatened to harm people near Walgreens—officers later took him into custody near the old Goodwill building.  Flagscanner

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Elevate PreK finished its pilot program and is now researching how to expand affordable preschool programs here. The study will help improve early childhood education for local families.  Arizona Daily Sun
