- ➤ Meteor Crater and Lowell Observatory are partnering for Asteroid Day on June 30—featuring family-friendly science programming, guest speakers, interactive exhibits, space-themed activities and telescope viewing—for local families and visitors. Arizona Daily Sun
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Flagstaff received three awards last month for the Schultz Creek Drainage Improvements Project along U.S. Highway 180, a project completed in fall 2024 that removed nearby neighborhoods from the FEMA special flood hazard designation. The project protected over 200 homes and an elementary school — honors came from APWA, ACPA and ADOT for the team’s innovation and collaboration. KAFF
- ➤ Governor Hobbs toured Flagstaff Medical Center on June 12 — meeting with NAH leaders and service area representatives to discuss potential federal Medicaid cuts. Arizona Daily Sun
- ➤ Flagstaff officials will hold a public hearing on August 26th at 3:00 p.m.—a first reading of an ordinance to correct a clerical error in two water capacity fees, with a second reading set for September 2nd to further discuss the changes. City of Flagstaff
