CRIME NEWS

  • At 4 p.m. on June 21, Flagstaff Police responded to the visitor center on E Route 66 after finding an individual passed out in a restroom, and he is now awake — undressing in public —.  Flagscanner
  • Flagstaff Police responded to an injury accident at Soliere and Fourth St. on June 21 when an adult male ran from the scene with a gun—he was later detained.  Flagscanner

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Flagstaff Fire Department responded to a wildland fire near E Route 66 between Caspar and Pep Boys after witnesses reported 8-foot flames likely caused by a cigarette — crews later reported the fire, now under 1/10 acre, is under control with a water supply established and no extra units needed.  Flagscanner

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Flagstaff Police are working with BNSF Railway to fix a malfunctioning train crossing at Ponderosa Parkway near Route 66—motorists are advised to use alternate routes until the issue is resolved.  Flagscanner

HEALTH NEWS

  • Northern Arizona Healthcare has started construction on its Summit Center remodel by adding a 6,000-square-foot extension to the building at (1485 N. Turquoise Drive). The project will boost healthcare services in the coming months.  Arizona Daily Sun
