COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A woman who went missing near the Edge of the World camping area on Friday was airlifted from a canyon on Monday afternoon by a multi-agency search + rescue operation. She sustained no serious injuries and is now safe after coordinated efforts by local officials.  Arizona Daily Sun

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Due to warm, dry, and windy conditions, Coconino County expanded fire restrictions to Stage 2 on June 18 at 6:00 p.m. in most unincorporated areas while Flagstaff will enter Stage 2 on Friday—officials warn that violations may result in fines or jail.  Flagscanner

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Flagstaff is hosting Meet in the Street events on June 25 and June 26—designed for residents impacted by post-wildfire flooding to discuss flood projects, flood modeling, and monsoon plans with city staff and partners. Residents north of Cedar Avenue are invited from 5:30-7 p.m. at the corner of North Grandview Drive and East Linda Vista Drive—while residents south of Cedar Avenue can attend from 5:30-7 p.m. at Ponderosa Park, 2512 North 1st Street.  KAFF
  • The City of Flagstaff will host a meet-and-greet event on June 26 from 4–6 p.m. at City Hall for the final candidates for the Planning and Development Services Director—Larry Harala and Michelle McNulty—while residents can provide feedback after the event.  City of Flagstaff
