ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A man riding a self-balancing single-wheel electric skateboard was critically injured when he collided with a Flagstaff police patrol vehicle near the intersection of South Milton Road and West Route 66 at 11:53 p.m. last night—officers provided aid until he was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center while investigators gathered witness statements.  KAFF

BUSINESS NEWS

  • During a routine oil change at Flagstaff Subaru, service advisor Braden Rudd discovered a 5-foot bull snake under a customer’s car hood— the nonvenomous snake was safely relocated and the car returned to its owner.  KAFF

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At its May 29 meeting, an ABOR committee forwarded the sale of NAU’s Granny’s Closet property as a step in the Regents’ asset management plan—this move now advances the proposal to the next stage.  Arizona Daily Sun
  • The City of Flagstaff will fully close roads in Presidio from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and in Crestview from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10 as C and E Paving and Grading applies a sealant to extend the asphalt's life—drivers must park their vehicles off these streets until the material dries.  City of Flagstaff
  • Lucinda Andreani, the Coconino County Flood Control District Director, earned the Centennial Celebration Impact Award in Public Safety from the Northern Arizona ASCE; she will be honored on Saturday, June 7 at Lowell Observatory — a nod to her work restoring nine watersheds — as part of the ASCE centennial celebration.  KAFF
  • The City of Flagstaff will host a meet and greet at City Hall on June 11th from 4–6 p.m.—four finalists for the Human Resources and Risk Management Director position will present themselves after a review of 59 applications and 10 screening interviews.
