  • A free guide called 'After Wildfire: A Guide for Arizona Communities' is now available to help Flagstaff residents navigate the challenging recovery after wildfires—offering clear advice for making safe, informed decisions. EDUCATION NEWS

  • CCC is offering free STEAM Career Camps for Flagstaff students entering sixth through eighth grade this fall—this program will introduce them to hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.  Arizona Daily Sun

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • More people are living in the forests near Flagstaff this summer to escape the heat, which increases the risk of wildfires started by small sparks, law enforcement said. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office noted that fighting these fires takes staff away from other duties — underscoring the need for safety measures among forest dwellers.  AZ Family

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Flagstaff and Coconino National Forest will enter Stage 1 fire restrictions tomorrow, banning fires, campfires, charcoal, coal, wood stoves, and smudge pots except at developed recreation sites, with smoking allowed only in enclosed vehicles or buildings—fireworks sales and use are also banned. The restrictions will remain until significant rain falls and further measures may be added if needed.  KAFF
