ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters battled the Corral Fire about 2.5 miles east of Mormon Lake and 24 miles southeast of Flagstaff on Memorial Day after the blaze was reported around 6:30 a.m.—it started at 20 acres before growing to a few hundred acres as a Hotshot crew, four fire engines, and a water tender worked to contain it on a steep, rocky slope. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fire crews fought the Corral Fire — first spotted near Mormon Lake on Monday morning in Coconino National Forest southeast of Flagstaff — and estimated it at 30 acres by noon; they conducted firing operations to keep the blaze contained, and no structures were threatened. AZ Family
- ➤ Emergency crews responded to a fire near Townsend Winona Rd and Rope Rd when a single burning tree grew to cover a quarter acre of grass. Traffic has been shut down and officials monitor the moderate spread—no immediate threats have been reported. Flagscanner
