Good morning, Flagstaff.

Today at 4:04 p.m., Flagstaff Fire Department responded near the Maverick Gas Station on N Highway 89 to a wildland fire; reports said flames reached 5 feet and 5 yards, but officials noted 2-foot flames over 25 yards — prompting a request for another wildland unit near Buffalo Fence Co.

The City of Flagstaff and parts of Coconino County will start Stage 1 fire restrictions this week as warm, dry, windy conditions heighten wildfire risks.

Flagstaff restrictions begin Thursday, May 21 at 8 a.m. (open burning, consumer fireworks, and some BBQs are banned) and Coconino County has earlier start times.
