COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ East Flagstaff Community Market will return for its third year at the Flagstaff Mall parking lot on May 17 as it shifts from its past location—marking a month earlier kickoff than previous years. Arizona Daily Sun
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Arizona Snowbowl announced the resort will remain open until May 26 to mark its longest 183-day ski season in history. The resort received 7 inches of snow last week and plans to open ten trails on weekends while not offering skiing on weekdays. KAFF
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Flagstaff planners are working to improve access to the only original Route 66 stretch—overlooked due to missing signage, parking, and easy entry—in anticipation of its 100th anniversary next year when up to 300,000 tourists are expected. The city is addressing jurisdiction and safety challenges with local groups so visitors can safely experience this historic route. AZ Family
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Coconino National Forest today proposed fee changes for many recreation sites including boating, picnic, trailhead and heritage sites (with fees increasing to as high as $75 for some cabins and lookouts). Residents can submit comments until Sept. 5 as officials review the proposals before making a final decision. KAFF
