Firefighters are battling the 115-acre Dane Fire 12 miles east of Clints Well, reported at 8 a.m. today, and have deployed four engines + one dozer to confine the blaze while officials urge the public to avoid the area as smoke remains visible from State Route 87.

Crane secured a Farm Bill amendment to support recovery from the White Sage Fire — the measure is set to boost funding for restoration projects in affected areas.
