- ➤ Communities south of Flagstaff are uneasy as local fire departments reallocated funds from the 20-year-old Bear Jaw fire prevention crew. Shelby Erickson’s final day is today (residents in Mountainair, Munds Park, and Kachina Village worry this change may boost fire risks). AZ Family
- ➤ Flagstaff residents saw the Taylor House kitchen dedicated to Nackard Pepsi (a nod to local tradition) in a small ceremony. The venue will host community gatherings and culinary events in the coming weeks. Arizona Daily Sun

- ➤ Free ponderosa pine firewood is available near Canyon Vista Campground five miles southeast of Flagstaff along Lake Mary Road for permit holders, and 300 cords of logs between 10 and 14 feet long are stacked near Sandy Canyon Trailhead + permits are issued at Flagstaff Ranger Station or Forest Headquarters.
