EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The City of Flagstaff and Loven Contracting, Inc. will start construction on the Montalvo STEM Education Community Center (211 E. First Ave.) on April 20. Officials said the facility will serve as a hub for learning, innovation, and connection with completion expected by late this year. KAFF
- ➤ Flagstaff STEM City announced the winners of the 2026 STEMMY Awards, recognizing achievements in science and technology. The ceremony was held at Lowell Observatory on Thursday, March 19. Arizona Daily Sun
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Coconino National Forest + US Forest Service plan a prescribed broadcast and maintenance burn for Thursday, Apr. 9 in the Stoneman Lake area. The project will treat roughly 500 acres about 18 miles northwest of Clints Well, and smoke may settle in low-lying areas if weather remains favorable. KAFF
