About this event
This weight training class is designed to bridge the gap between the ground and the air, using proven strength training techniques to support your aerial journey. In this class, we’ll focus on competence and progression of the foundational compound lifts—squat, deadlift, push, and pull—to build the strength and stability essential for aerial performance. Through progressive training and tailored instruction, you’ll develop the power to execute dynamic movements with confidence, the control to refine your artistry, and the resilience to reduce the risk of injury. Not only is strength training an amazing way to level up your aerial skills, but it also helps: increase bone density, decrease likelihood of development of chronic conditions (like heart disease or diabetes), helps with injury prevention, promotes better sleep, and even increases cognition. Whether you're working toward conquering challenging skills or simply seeking to enhance your body’s capabilities on your apparatus, this class will equip you with the tools to elevate your aerial practice. Let's get stronger, safer, and more skilled! Bio: As a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy with nearly a decade of experience in coaching, I specialize in helping humans build strength, autonomy, and resilience. Over the past 9 years, I’ve utilized Pilates, kettlebells, and other strength training techniques to empower clients to reach their physical goals while acknowledging the impact that stress, sleep, nutrition, and community play in each individual's life. I’ve recently completed a course focused on understanding specific strength needs for aerialists and how to modify and progress a variety of strength training, allowing me to merge evidence-based strategies with the unique demands of aerial arts. As a dedicated aerialist myself, with 3 years of training at Momentum Aerial in silks, lyra, and pole, I understand the challenges performers face firsthand. My goal is to help aerialists achieve the strength, control, and injury prevention needed to perform confidently and sustainably.
